Christian Education is one of Pastor Foster's principal commitments to Providence Missionary Baptist Church. His hope is to facilitate the spiritual growth and discipleship of believers into Christ-likeness.

The following ministries fall under the jurisdiction of the Director of Christian Education, Dr. Dolly A. Robinson:
Sunday School Ministry - With classes for all ages and interest. These include class for nursery, primary age, junior, teen and adults. In the adult division, there are co-ed classes, all male and all female classes. The adult classes use standardized curriculum as well as a structured Bible studies using an outline created by the instructor for those classes. The Sunday School is under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of School, Chairman Willie Johnson and his staff.
Encounters with Jesus - is a class for newer members of the church who have completed the New Members Orientation. This class is also open to any member who wishes to grow stronger in their faith. Encounters with Jesus is the discipleship program of Providence. Encounters with Jesus meets concurrently during Sunday School hour.
Vacation Bible School - is open to all children from age 2 to 18 from the church and the community. Vacation Bible School (VBS) operates for two (2) weeks during the last week of June through the first week of July. VBS operates annually and offers aged based Bible studies, arts and crafts, music and free breakfast and lunch. VBS operates under the Vacation Bible School Director, Alvita Harris-Crenshaw and her Staff. The 2020 VBS was cancelled due to COVID-19. We plan to resume in 2021.
Teacher Training Classes - Operate on an as-needed basis. This class is currently in session and meets monthly for two hours of instruction. These sessions are open to any member of Providence who has a desire or has been called to teach in any capacity of the church. This is a mandatory class for all teachers and is taught and administered by the Director of Christian Education.
Semi Annual Leadership Schools - Leadership schools are overseen by the Director of Christian Education and administered by a Dean who has been certified by the Division of Christian Education and Accreditation and Credentials in Nashville, Tennessee. Under this program, individuals can complete a prescribed course of study in phases and receive certificates and a diploma from DCEAC.
